Monster Peer and Party

It’s time for our Monster Peer and Play Party! If you like your rope events with a great mix of tying space, optional activities and an add-on party then this is the peer for you. The day features an all-levels rope challenge and our evening play party. By combining the peer and party we’re able to reduce the overall cost by offering combo tickets.

Tickets can be purchased a few weeks before the event

The tickets are limited to 35 for the peer and 30 for the party to give the right balance of space/calm and atmosphere.

Please note that whilst we have heaters the venue is industrial and is cool, particularly late at night. Bring warm clothing to wear in and between rope, and warm socks or slippers can help.

Outline Schedule

11:30am – Doors Open

12pm to 6pm – Tying space open for the peer

12.30pm to ~ 2pm – Optional all levels “Elevate” rope demo and challenge (from simple floor to suspension, including a detailed suspension demo and help). The theme for this one is “Added Extras”

2pm to 5pm – Foundations Course – Session 4

6pm to 8pm – Tying space closed but social space remains open

8pm to 1am – Tying space open for the play party!

1.30am – Doors Close

Tickets

We offer a choice of standard or Budget tickets. You can buy the Budget tickets if you would not be otherwise able to attend the event because of the cost. We do not ask you to prove this – if you need the ticket and one is available, you are welcome to buy it – no tests and no judgment. The number of budget tickets is limited.

All Levels “Elevate” Rope Challenge

In the Elevate rope challenge a topic or challenge will be set, designed to inspire experiment and learning whilst being adaptable to your tying experience, desires and style. The challenges have been chosen to work for people of all levels from novice riggers to those experienced in advanced suspensions.

The session will begin with a briefing, which will include a demo, as well as setting various questions and challenges. These are designed to allow you to work through the challenge at the right level for you, whether that’s a straightforward partial or a more complex series of suspension transitions.

This lab will not be teaching you any rope, including suspension, but will help you improve your existing skills so at a minimum you would benefit from being able to tie a single column and have done a small amount of tying. If you are doing partial or full suspension you must be sufficiently experienced and make sure you are tying within your skill set.

Play Party

In the evening we have an (optional add-on) Play Party! Here the rules are widened – you’ll find details on fetlife and our website but they are really around not doing anything that will disturb other scenes or our neighbours, make a mess or risk/break the venue but are pretty wide apart from that. We will have a small amount of additional furniture in the venue, and whilst it is a rope based play party we’re also happy for other things to go on to that are within our more detailed rules.

Between 6pm and 8pm the tying space is closed, we do encourage people to go out and grab food (it also tends to help with energy levels!) but the social areas will be open if you want to hang out in between.
